The blank fields and task table below can be copied into your own document or spreadsheet. P0 means a blocking issue, P1 means the main page improvements, and P2 means follow-up work. Adjust the priorities and estimates to your page rather than treating this as a fixed recipe.

Need help choosing tasks? The companion guide explains the method and works through a fictional loose-leaf tea collection. The filled example here uses the same scenario; it is not a customer result.

    Page details

    • —Page URL and primary keyword:
    • —Visitor's intent and desired action (purchase, enquiry or another meaningful goal):
    • —Baseline date range, country and device:
    • —Search Console clicks, impressions, CTR and average position for this page:
    • —Relevant enquiry or sales baseline, if available, and its measurement source:
    • —Three relevant competing URLs, date reviewed and observed content gaps:
    • —Plan owner, publication date and next review date:

    Step 1 — Indexability and on-page checks

    • —Check the page loads, is not accidentally blocked or noindexed, and has the intended canonical URL.
    • —Write an accurate, distinct title and H1 matching search intent; use the primary phrase naturally.
    • —Answer the visitor's main question near the start.
    • —Write an accurate meta description; Google may choose a different snippet.
    • —Do not change an existing URL just to add a keyword; if a move is necessary, plan the redirect and update internal links.

Step 2 — Verified content gaps

    • —List important questions relevant ranking pages answer and yours does not.
    • —Add useful answers based on your actual products, services or experience; verify every claim.
    • —Add evidence you can support: original photos, product details, a comparison or a worked example. Do not target word count for its own sake.

Step 3 — Contextual internal links

    • —Record related source pages and the descriptive link wording you will use to reach the target page.
    • —Link back to useful supporting pages where that helps visitors; check all destinations after publishing.
    • —Make important pages reachable through the site's navigation, without adding unrelated links just to reach a quota.

Step 4 — Relevant outreach, if needed

    • —Compare referring domains to competing pages, not only their whole websites.
    • —Identify relevant publishers or partners whose readers would benefit from your page. Record the reason for each approach; avoid bought links and bulk link schemes.

Filled example — loose-leaf tea collection

Illustrative only: all measurements and observations here are fictional. Page: /collections/loose-leaf-tea. Keyword: loose leaf tea. Intent: compare and shop for tea. Baseline: a fictional 28-day period, US, all devices, with 1,200 impressions, 18 clicks, 1.5% CTR and average position 18. No sales baseline or improvement is assumed.

Assume competing collections answer questions about flavour, caffeine and brewing while this page says only "Our teas". The owner must verify the proposed product details before an editor adds them.

Step 5 — Track, review and decide

Record each publication date. Compare a complete post-change 28-day period with the baseline using the same page, country and device filters. Track clicks, impressions, CTR and relevant enquiries or sales alongside rankings. If impressions remain absent, investigate indexing first.

A review after four weeks is a checkpoint, not a promised result. Search demand, seasonality and other changes can affect performance. Keep a decision log: what changed, what the evidence shows and whether to keep, revise or investigate the next task.

TopRankr SEO Action Plans can help turn a tracked keyword's data into recommendations. Check those recommendations against your site, then assign owners and implement them; analysis does not publish changes for you.
